Tom Ted George Abe

This first leg of our trip goes through three of the five least densely populated US states.  So there's lots of this or similar.  South Dakota is often notably flat.

But the elevation changes at the end of the ennui rainbow are worth it.  My cathedral is the Badlands.

And then, quite abruptly, bad lands shift to black hills.

South Dakota may be the 46th least populated US state, but I can vouch that at least four people live there.  Peekaboo!

The whole band's back together, and they're even taking requests.

(I took this picture from a moving vehicle.  {is very proud of self})

George always was the strong, silent type.

Kind of awkward that he was also a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) though.
